The time of hunting and fishing conventions has come to an end and the hunting guides-outfitters have returned home to prepare for another season. I’m left with my head full of new stories and my sides still aching from laughing at the crazy tales and humorous, if sometimes dangerous, adventures we’ve shared at vendor booths, in the hallways, hotel rooms and yes, while sipping a beverage in the local “watering holes.”

One thing you don’t want to do on Saturday night is to commit a crime in Pahrump. This Saturday from the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. the Baker to Vegas run will be coming through town with nearly 8,000 police officers and support personnel.
It has been at least three years since the boys golf team has gotten three players in the 80s and they did it at Canyon Gate in Las Vegas against Faith Lutheran on Monday in league action.
At 6 foot 2 inches tall and 205 pounds, junior Kelby Lindberg is one of the biggest golfers the team has. He made the varsity team for the second year in a row and is one of six golfers that the team will feature at its tournaments.
The Trojans softball team took two of their last three games. In games on Thursday and Saturday their offense just overpowered their last two opponents, but hit a wall when they faced Spring Valley on Monday.
Beatty will have its first league game on April 17 and for Beatty Coach James Robertson that day could be delayed for another month and he would be OK with that.
Trojans baseball racked up the hits in two games before Monday, but when they played Spring Valley yesterday the hits evaporated.
