Pahrump is avoiding flu season, so far

Local health officials consider the present flu season average at best judging by the low number of reported cases of the flu virus in Nye County.

ASSESSOR’S OFFICE HOURS CHANGED

The Nye County Assessor’s office has changed its hours in Pahrump and Tonopah to 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, effective immediately. The change comes as new Assessor Sheree Stringer took over the office Monday from Shirley Matson, who Stringer defeated in November’s election.

Sheriff office’s Change of Command ceremony Monday

There will be the Nye County Sheriff office’s Change of Command ceremony Monday starting at 8 a.m. at the County Commission chambers, 2100 E. Walt Williams Drive.
