Trojans sports teams are finishing off the week with tough competition as the girls soccer team and football team will face off with top three schools in their leagues.
With two minutes left on the clock, the Trojans girls soccer team was in the lead by one goal against one of the top two soccer teams in their league – seconds later that changed.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, Trojan Natalie Soto took the ball onto Mater Academy East Las Vegas’ side to take one of the longest shots in the game to seal the team’s fate.

The Trojans came close to winning a major invitational on Friday. For the Trojans boys, the title of the Boulder City Invitational on Friday came down to one event, the pole vault. A first-place showing would have given Pahrump the win. Trojans pole vaulter Nico Cipollini had bested the vaulters at the meet before, but it wasn’t to be.
The Lady Trojans got pounded by Spring Valley on Friday on the road 11-1 with the Grizzlies getting back at Pahrump for their only loss earlier in the season, where the Trojans downed them 3-2. The team then got their frustrations out at Desert Pines (1-21 overall, 0-11 Sunrise League) in non-league action on Saturday, beating up on them 21-5.
Like the Energizer bunny, Christopher Badia keeps on going. He is a one-man show dedicated to getting a BMX course in Pahrump for the kids. For the past three to four years he has been like a broken record, hitting up every person that would listen to him and telling people that Pahrump needs a BMX course for kids.
The Trojans baseball team is hanging onto playoff hopes by a thread.
I watch a lot of youth sports. It comes with the territory. As I was watching a youth baseball game, I saw a parent coaching his kid from the sideline. He was screaming at the top of his lungs at his kid, telling him to watch the ball and to take his head out of his butt. He used harsher language.
The Trojans baseball team is composed of youthful ball players this year and their spirit is exemplified by the Lucas brothers, Garrett and Willie.
Trojans track dominated the field in their only home meet and broke two school records. The team ran against Del Sol, Desert Pines, Virgin Valley and Beatty as both boys and girls beat their opponents.
Sophomore Adrianna Sandoval pitched a perfect game to lead Trojans softball to a 21-0 rout of Clark on Wednesday. Sandoval was helped a lot by Pahrump’s great defense.
