This will be Bob Perchetti’s last annual Bill Beko Golf Tournament at Furnace Creek as the chairman of the tournament. He founded the tournament over 20 years ago and will be turning the reins over to Vikki and Tom Beko. Bill Beko was a district court judge from 1975 to 1989.
The Lady Trojans played their first game of the season against Virgin Valley (0-6 overall, 0-0 Sunrise League) on Monday in a doubleheader, where the Trojans’ hot bats dominated both games.
The Trojans baseball team went 3-1 at the Eldorado baseball tournament in Las Vegas and then on Monday they played Virgin Valley and beat them 12-3 at home.
Donkey basketball was a huge success in its third year running at the high school last Friday night.
The Pahrump Valley Speedway raced last Saturday despite the threat of rain. The car count seemed to be unaffected by the threat with 44 cars showing up for the contest. This count didn’t include the nine young Mini Dwarf racers who showed up.
Trojans baseball starts this week with the boys at the Sun Devil Tourney at Eldorado High School in Las Vegas today and Saturday.
The Trojans golf team scrimmaged with the Bishop Gorman golf team on Tuesday afternoon. It was their second outing of the season. Last week the Trojans were at Palo Verde in another preseason scrimmage at TPC at the Canyons.
