Beatty ends Tonopah’s dreams of state

Last Tuesday, Beatty destroyed the Lady Muckers dreams’ of reaching the State Championship this year. Tonopah lost in four, 25-7,25-17,17-25, and 25-15 against the Hornets in a fierce battle in which both teams played their hearts out on the court.

Pahrump Special Olympics founder passes

Audrey Gourley, the founder of Special Olympics in Pahrump, passed away on Sept 22. Gourley was a pioneer for Special Olympics and established it in Pahrump in 2000. She was born Sept. 12, 1936. Gourley is survived by her husband Frank, sons, Tony, Patrick and Frank Jr. and one daughter Nadine.

Golf News: Bernard Lucas had a hole-in-one on Oct. 22 on hole number 11 at Lakeview Executive Golf Course. Phil Bradley also had a hole-in-one on Oct. 28 on hole 10 at the same course.

Beatty seniors reflect on their winning season

It has been a while since Beatty was in the playoffs in football. It was 1996. That was before many of the team members were even born. This year the six seniors on the team will be playing in their first playoff game in a Beatty football uniform. It could be their last game ever in a Beatty football uniform, but they are ready to play and prove to people that they can play football. The seniors are: Luis Flores, Jacob Handy, Zain Hammit, Brandon Cross, Waylon Lucas and Lorenzo Pinon.
