Bishop Gorman came to town to test the Trojans golf skills on Tuesday afternoon. Trojans Coach Bob Hopkins said he wanted his girls to work on their short game and approaches to the green.

After losing seven seniors last year, the Trojans didn’t have the talent developed yet to stop an experienced Douglas team. Douglas came down from Northern Nevada to play Centennial, Boulder City and Pahrump. Douglas defeated all three teams.
The Trojans defense held the Bonanza Bengals scoreless through three quarters to win 40-7 last Friday night. The Bengals, a rushing team, were held to 73-yards rushing on the night and 90-yards passing, while the Trojans offense scored at will.
The Lady Trojans golf team this year is headed by Trojans Coach Bob Hopkins. Hopkins is no stranger with the girls team. He and Julie Floyd had coached together before and produced a top-notch team. Also in 1980, Hopkins again coached both girls and boys in South Dakota.
The Trojans open today at 7 p.m. against the Bonanza Bengals at home. This will be the second year that Trojans Coach Joe Clayton will be using the Jet Sweep Offense and the Trojans should be able to attack the Bengals with the run.
