Pahrump Valley is heating up at the right time. The Trojans cruised to a 50–17 victory over Cristo Rey St. Viator on Wednesday night, securing third place in the division.

One of Pahrump’s longest-running rural traditions is set to return this February as the annual Pahrump Jr.High–High School Rodeo brings three days of competition to the McCullough Rodeo Arena from Feb. 6–8.
Trojans Coach Don Boulden has changed men’s soccer at Pahrump Valley High School for the better. He is the third head coach in three years, but the difference is he is turned this team around from a 3-10 team to a 6-6 in league team.
The Trojans football team played their hearts out for the last remaining playoff spot against the Mojave Rattlers, but just could not get their offensive game off the ground and lost 47-0.
It was homecoming and Sandy Valley was coming into town. Usually this meant a win for the Beatty football team, but not this year.
The final games of the season are ticking away and the Lady Trojans volleyball team finds themselves sitting pretty much right where they were about this time last year. The Trojans have won their last three games improving to an impressive 7-2 in league play.
On Sept. 8 at age 77, Jim Fahey hit his first hole-in-one — ever at Lakeview Executive course, which brought him to the Pahrump Valley Times. Normally a hole-in-one does not justify a whole article, but something was different about Fahey. Perhaps it was his age, or the fact he reminds people of their dad. Whatever the reason the story came out and it started off with an incredible hole-in-one ball.
Tonopah volleyball players are for the most part a different breed of athlete who are forged in the wilderness which surrounds them and molded by hard work and a lot of guts.
The Lady Trojans are winding down the season with just two games left in the season on Tuesday and Thursday of next week against Western and Faith Lutheran.
Trojans dominated and destroyed the Western Warriors 60-0 last Friday to improve to 2-2 in league play and 3-5 overall. Both Cheyenne and Pahrump have a 2-2 record going into this week’s game, and the Trojans could take possession of third if Cheyenne loses to Clark and the Trojans beat Mohave this Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Lady Trojans soccer team scored five goals in the first half and three in the second half to send the Cheyenne Desert Shields packing last Thursday at home.
The Tonopah Muckers easily dispatched Adelson on Friday and Word of Life on Saturday in league action 3-0, and 3-0. Tonopah improves to 6-0 in league play and 10-1 overall. The team faces Indian Springs this week an then Pahranagat Valley at home the following week.
