Wichman wants input on public lands transfer

Nye County Commissioner Lorinda Wichman, who represents a vast area of Nye County north of Pahrump, complained she hasn’t received any comments from county residents for the Nevada Land Management Task Force, which is studying how public lands controlled by the federal government could be transferred to the state.

Labor market picture fails to improve

An estimated 11.2 percent of Nye County workers were unemployed in October, according to the latest estimates from the Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), a slight uptick from September, but over one percentage point less than October 2012.
