Trojans golf played two matches last week, on Tuesday against Bishop Gorman and on Thursday, a league match at Aliante in Las Vegas.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office fielded a team in the annual Baker to Vegas run for the first time since 2013. On Saturday, about 8,000 law enforcement and support personnel involved with the race ran through Pahrump without any major incidents.
The Trojans finished off the week by going 1-1. On Thursday they played their first home game and got pummeled by (Clark 4-3 overall, 1-1 Sunset League) in conference play 13-2, and then on Saturday they beat a Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado team 11-7.
The Pahrump Valley boys track team is tearing things up in long-distance running. The Trojans went to Del Sol in Las Vegas on Tuesday to compete against four Division I-A teams. Pahrump finished second (106), Del Sol was first (117.5), Chaparral was third (95) and Spring Valley was fourth (55.5).
Beatty track is off and running and hoping to be as successful as it was last year.
The Lady Trojans outlasted Western 7-4, in what Trojans coach Eli Armendariz characterizes as an ugly win.
Trojans boys baseball blasted Western in their league opener on Tuesday, 12-1.
It will be the safest day as far as the crime rate in Pahrump as 8,000 police officers and support personnel run through town during the annual 120-mile Baker to Vegas run.
