Trojans sports teams are finishing off the week with tough competition as the girls soccer team and football team will face off with top three schools in their leagues.
With two minutes left on the clock, the Trojans girls soccer team was in the lead by one goal against one of the top two soccer teams in their league – seconds later that changed.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, Trojan Natalie Soto took the ball onto Mater Academy East Las Vegas’ side to take one of the longest shots in the game to seal the team’s fate.
This is a big week for the Trojans soccer teams as both teams are playing at least two league games this week.

The Lady Trojans went on the road to Spring Creek in Northern Nevada for three games over the weekend. The Trojans won all three games. They had two games on Friday where they played Jerome High School from Idaho and Elko High School. They played Spring Creek on Saturday.
The Trojans expected to do well at Boulder City based on their ability to stop the run against Bonanza the week before and past experiences with Boulder. Three sports writers had picked the Trojans to walk away with a win on Friday night, but the Eagles surprised everyone.
Trojans boys had a rough opening at the Mesquite Cup winning only 1-2 last week. The team turned it around over the weekend by beating Fernley 5-2 and Churchill County 2-1. The team played the Idaho State Champions on Saturday to a 3-3 tie and improved their record to 3-2-1.
The boys and girls Trojans cross country team was in Las Vegas again last Saturday for the Las Vegas Invitational at Sunset Park. The course was a flat 5,000-meter course. The Pahrump boys finished 6th out of 11 small schools. Hurricane (Utah) was the top school on the boys’ side. In second was Clark, third was SECTA, 4th was Virgin Valley and fifth was Mojave. The girls finished 6th out of eight schools.
The Pahrump Valley Trojans will take on the Boulder City Eagles today at Boulder City. The Trojans will be away this week and next, against Mojave.
Bryson Moore was appointed as the new athletic director of Beatty High School this year. Moore took over from Leo Verzilli who had the position for the past three years.
The Pahrump Valley cross country team went to the Palo Verde Labor Day Classic at Sunset Park last Saturday.
Bishop Gorman came to town to test the Trojans golf skills on Tuesday afternoon. Trojans Coach Bob Hopkins said he wanted his girls to work on their short game and approaches to the green.
