Tristyn Wombaker and Katelyn Long were selected as Wendy’s High School Heisman Award winners for 2016. Wombaker is a senior who has been a standout performer in soccer and basketball at Pahrump Valley High School. Long is from Oklahoma and arrived in Pahrump last year. She is a senior standout in softball.

Pahrump didn’t have to worry about that for long, as they scored three unanswered touchdowns in a row in the first half (18-0) and never looked back, winning 35-14.
Trojans cross-country runner Bryce Odegard won bragging rights last Saturday as he ran away with the Class 3 A Sunset League individual title on Saturday at Basic High School, beating Rylan Banegas of Cheyenne by 20 seconds and 31 other runners.
