Bryce Odegard came in first place (16 minutes, 9.7 seconds) out of 64 runners on Friday to help his team with a second-place finish at the 3A Southern Region meet. This means the Trojans boys will be going to state as a team.
The Lady Trojans soundly defeated the Chaparral Cowboys at home last night in three sets, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-18 in the first round of the 3A Southern Region playoffs.
It would be safe to call Pahrump Valley High sophomore Dakota Gray a real straight shooter.
Trojans soccer dropped their last home game to Cheyenne on Tuesday, 2-0.

On Oct. 23 it was an ordinary day for 65-year-old Cindi Toepel. The Pahrump resident awoke, ate breakfast and then went to work.
The Trojans defense made a statement last Friday by keeping Mojave off balance the entire game. Junior Cory Bergan played a key role in that defense and had four interceptions and a pick-six to help lead Pahrump Valley to a 30-8 win over Mojave on Friday.
The Trojans will be sending five teams to postseason play. It’s the most teams since the Trojans were in 3A before the 2008 season.
