The first week of the prep football season was considered a success. But eight games were canceled by causes related to the COVID pandemic, player eligibility and wildfires.

The Tonopah Muckers remain the only Nye County Division-4 school in volleyball still in the playoffs and will be going to the state title tourney as the number two seed.
Anytime the Pahrump Valley Trojans and Faith Lutheran Crusaders come together the sparks will fly. Last Saturday for the Southern Nevada Regional Championship when the two women soccer teams came together, it was no different.

This year in a game, which decided the League title they lost in four (16-25, 25-20, 17-25 and 16-25) at home in an intense and hard-fought game (1-3).

One more game and the Lady Trojans soccer team are on their way to the final four for the state title, but first they will play Faith Lutheran for the regional title on Nov. 9 at Heritage Park at 10 a.m.

The road to state lies through the Pahranagat Valley Panthers. How many Hornet fans are sick of hearing that one? Unfortunately that is what it is, and the Hornets have to put their game face on and play them on Nov. 9 at 12 p.m.
Beatty football heads to the locker room until next year. The team went 1-5 in league and 2-5 overall. For the Hornets, it was a rough year with only two seniors and just four returners from last year. It was definitely a year of rebuilding.
“After the Duel in the Desert” is a new race, which will be this weekend at the Pahrump Valley Speedway. The race is 40 laps and will feature IMCA Modifieds competing for a $1,500 purse. The race is designed to catch the racers coming into Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Duel in the Desert Race. This Vegas race attracted 253 IMCA Modified cars last year.
Normally when Trojans soccer player Sydney Sladek scores more than two goals against Faith Lutheran it means the game goes to the Trojans, but this time it took the silent shooter, Courtney Lindsay to deal the death blow in the Trojans victory of 3-2.
The racing season is over as far as points, but track promoter and owner Chad Broadhead wants to introduce a new race and it’s for the money. The Pahrump Valley Speedway will be hosting “Day after the Duel” on Nov. 10 starting at 3 p.m.
The Division I-A Southern Regional Meet was held last week at the Veterans Memorial park in Boulder City and the results were disappointing to Trojans fans. The team failed to make state.
Men’s soccer has returned to Pahrump as a team to be reckoned with and it all started with first year coach, Don Boulden. The Trojans may not be headed out to the playoffs this year, but they can go out with their heads held high and say they gave it their best shot.
The Tonopah Muckers football team played the Pahranagat Valley Panthers and could not end their winning streak of 65 games and became the 66th. The Panthers not only have an unbelievable winning streak, but they also have 5 consecutive state titles in a row.
