Pahrump Valley played Equipo Academy to a scoreless draw Sept. 17, extending its unbeaten stretch to three matches while continuing to seek its first league victory.

A new class of racers debuted at the speedway to add to the excitement of opening day. The new class is the Mini Dwarf class and is made up of kids from 9-13 years old. Although this class will not be whipping around the turns at fantastic speeds, it gives kids in the community something else to look forward to.

Powerlifting is coming to Pahrump at the Nugget Events Center. The event is sponsored by the World Association for Benchers and Deadlifters and will be on March 7 at 9 a.m.
This year will be the second annual Maroon and Gold Alumni Barbecue, where Alumni from Pahrump Valley High School gather to eat and swap stories about the glory days. The event will be this Saturday at 4 p.m. and is open to past Pahrump Valley High School baseball players and current players.
Bowling News: At the Pahrump Nugget: Perfect scores: Nocky Roach bowled a 300 game on Feb. 9, Bernard Curtis bowled a 300 on Feb. 12 and Donovin Lusher bowled 299 on Jan. 29.
The Muckers and the Lady Hornets had a showdown last Friday in Beatty with the Muckers winning, 39-37. It was another classic game between the two rivals. Beatty (6-5 overall, 4-5 Division IV Southern) needed a win to keep them in the playoffs but the Muckers (6-15, 5-4) came in and spoiled the night.
Jax and Jace Clayton are identical twins who made history over the weekend by both winning individual state wrestling titles in Winnemucca over the weekend at the Nevada Division I-A Wrestling Championships.
The Trojans wrestling team defeated Lowry High School for the Nevada Division I-A Wrestling State Championship up in Winnemucca today. The team upset the defending state champions, the Buckaroos, who had won six straight state titles in a row and had won the title 16 times.
Hold your heads high Trojans basketball players. It was a tough season and you deserve a salute for trying your best and listening to your coaches.
