The game against Western was last Thursday and the Trojans had no problems beating them 3-1, but Coach Jill Harris really did not know what to expect with Cheyenne.
The cross country team was in action at home against the Mojave Rattlers. The boys lost to Mojave 16-41 and the girls beat Mojave 38-21.
On a cold, wet and gloomy day, the Trojans men’s soccer team played the Adelson Lions on a slick and miserable field. The weather was on and off rain, but it was enough to soak the field and the jerseys of the players. The Trojans swam to a 3-1 victory over the Lions.
The Trojans womens golf team was at Palm Valley in Summerlin for their last league match of the season on Tuesday. The team was consistent and finished third, a position they have held all season. Courtney Berry was the low score for the team carding a 105. Natalie King and Jayde Woodworth both carded a 115.
The Lady Muckers added their third win last Friday in three matches against the Lund Mustangs girls volleyball team in league play (25-14, 25-22, 25-16).
Beatty Hornets volleyball will face its toughest test since playing Pahranagat Valley earlier in the year, when they go up against the Tonopah Muckers at 3 p.m. Friday in a home game.
The Muckers gave it their all on the field to achieve last Friday’s victory against the Spring Mountain Eagles 46-40 (0-12, 12-18, 24-34 and 46-40), in a heroic comeback, with Connor Friel’s touchdown at three minutes left in the game.
The Trojans battled the Faith Lutheran Crusaders to a disappointing 0-0 tie. It was disappointing not because the Lady Trojans did not perform, they were outstanding. The outcome of the game was just frustrating.
The Trojans led the Cheyenne Desert Shields on Friday at the half 36 to 24. The Shields tied the game in the third quarter and neither team was able to seal the deal in the fourth.
