Longtime Trojans coach retires from school district after 30 years

Julie Floyd retires after 30 years teaching in the Nye County School district and will also step down as the head of the Trojans girls golf team. Her last teaching post was with Floyd Elementary school where she taught physical education.

Three coaches from Tonopah High School will make the race

The upcoming Sam Stringer Memorial on July 19 will see many IMCA Modified drivers converging on Pahrump to try to win the $1,500 purse. This could mean the six to 10 IMCA Modifieds from Tonopah could be coming down.

Nothing has changed with the Badwater 135 race situation since the National Park Service decided to pull the plug on the race in the park in December of 2013. The race will still not be in Death Valley this year.
