Wildfires burning on Pahrump side of Mount Potosi

The first, relatively small fire began about 4:25 p.m. near the Potosi Pines Boy Scout Camp, located at 10910 Mount Potosi Canyon Road, according to dispatch logs. A second fire began about 6:50 p.m. near Cottonwood Pass, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

BLM and TravelNevada kick off ‘17 photo contest

The 2017 U.S. Bureau of Land Management Nevada photo contest is underway in partnership with TravelNevada, organizers announced. BLM Nevada will be accepting submissions for its annual photo contest through Sept.15.
