January 2013 started off with the winter season which is for wrestling and basketball. The year 2013 was the first season in the Division 1-A for these sports and the Trojans had high hopes.
This year the Lady Hornets basketball team is struggling to put experienced upperclassmen on the court with only two. Eaire Davis is one of those two and is leading the team in defense in this building year for the Hornets.

This was the case when the San Francisco 49ers faced off with a hapless Atlanta Falcons team who had nothing to lose and they were seeking revenge for last year’s loss to the 49ers in the playoffs.
The final minutes were ticking off and with just 2:56 remaining in the game the Lady Trojans basketball team had just taken a fragile 30-29 lead. They took the lead and edged ever so closely to victory when Shayla Dance made a clutch jumper to make it 34-30 at the 2:00 minute mark. It took Alyssa Murphy to then ice the game. She came to the line and sunk two free throws in a row to make the final score 36-30 with just 52 seconds left on the clock.
Rod Poteete, the retired teacher and baseball coach for the Pahrump Valley Trojans, just can’t get a break health-wise.
The Trojans wrestling team was at the Spring Valley Duals at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas where they had to wrestle five teams in one day.
