Trojans girls soccer games can be an intense experience, especially if watching from the field. On any particular game day the loudest voice you hear won’t be coming from the coaches, it’s coming from the goalkeeper, senior Kiaya Nauck.
This year the Desert Pines Jaguars came to Pahrump and prevailed, barely. The score hardly reflects the near miss the Jaguars experienced, 41-27. The game was so close, the victorious coach of the Jaguars hastily left the stadium without making any remarks.
The annual Pahrump Valley Volleyball Invitational was held at Pahrump Valley High School on Saturday and attracted 16 teams from all over Southern Nevada for play.
The Pahrump Valley Invitational was Saturday and the Lady Trojans were tested by some of the best teams in the region.
Beatty traveled to Pahrump for the Pahrump Valley Volleyball Invitational on Saturday to try out a not-so-new coach and a new team. Dale Lerbakken is the new Beatty volleyball coach this year, but has coached the team for two years prior to Steve Sullivan. Lerbakken was excited and said he would coach the team as long as they need him. He is the music teacher from K-12 and handles the Beatty High School band.
The Tonopah Muckers football team moved to 1-1 as they pummeled Lone Pine 65-46 at home. The Muckers lead running back, Matt Misener, ran for 195 yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns.
The Tonopah Muckers are one of the best teams in Nye County and they proved it by beating most of the teams at the Pahrump Valley Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Muckers volleyball team saw action at a tournament in Ely Friday and Saturday. The team played four games on Friday and three games on Saturday and went 4-3.
The Trojans girls cross country team ran Saturday in the Labor Day Classic hosted by Palo Verde High School, a Division 1 team. The course was 5,000 meters with 18 teams competing. Trojans Coach Matthew Kolodzieczyk was happy with the results.
